Recruiting and Work Term Dates

For your convenience, we have compiled a listing of recruiting and work term dates to help you navigate your co-op experience at Laurier. Further detailed information can be found in the co-op events calendar on NavigatorNote: Recruiting dates are subject to change.

Fall 2024 Work Term; September 3 through December 20, 2024

We have now completed recruitment for this period.

Winter 2025 Work Term; January 2 through April 25, 2025

(Students in CPA firms work from January 2 through April 30, 2025) 

Personal Job Search

  • You may conduct a personal job search any time.
  • Interviews we schedule take precedence over interviews through your personal job search, so please avoid scheduling interviews from September 24 through October 3.
  • Before accepting a job you find on your own, you must send details of the offer to your co-op consultant so we can decide whether to approve the job for co-op.
  • You may not accept a job offer through your personal job search between the deadline for submitting your intention form, 9 a.m. on September 12, and the time we announce the results of the ranking and matching process, on October 9. 

Continuous Recruiting Period

  • We will begin posting jobs for the continuous recruiting period on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.
  • If you are still seeking work for the winter, you will begin applying to job postings again.
  • During the continuous recruiting period, employers may contact you directly to arrange interviews and offer jobs. Please send details of your interviews to your consultant , so we don't schedule you for other interviews at the same time.
  • We will post jobs for the continuous recruiting period until all co-op students have secured employment for the winter.
  • If you receive an offer from an employer, please let your consultant know so we can notify other employers considering you.

Spring 2025 Work Term; May 1 through August 29, 2025

CPA Recruiting Period

CPA firms will recruit students to work for four or eight months beginning in the spring or fall.

You may participate if you are a Sequence One or Economics Co-op student seeking your first work term in May or a Sequence Two student seeking your first work term in September. (We allow CPA firms to switch your sequence. Economics students: If you apply to jobs that start in fall or last eight months, please consult with Amy Neufeld about strategies for registration challenges.)

  • Thursday, November 14: We will begin posting co-op jobs for the CPA recruiting period.
  • Through November 29:  We will continue to post jobs, so check Navigator daily.
  • January 6 and 7: Interviews
  • Wednesday, January 8 (afternoon): View how employers ranked you.
  • Thursday, January 9 by 9 a.m.: Submit your rankings of employers.
  • Friday, January 10: Learn the results of the early CPA ranking and matching process.

Primary Recruiting Period

  • Thursday, January 9: We will begin posting co-op jobs for the spring 2025 work term.
  • Monday, January 13, by 11:59 p.m.: Complete the Student Contact and Interview Conflict Form
  • Friday, January 17, by 9 a.m.: Submit your intention form on Navigator.
  • Through January 20:  We will continue to post jobs, so check Navigator daily.
  • January 23 to February 3: Interviews.
  • January 27, 28, and possibly January 29: Some interviews will take place in person on campus.
  • Wednesday, February 5 (afternoon): View how employers ranked you.
  • Thursday, February 6, by 9 a.m.:  Enter your rankings of employers on Navigator.
  • Friday, February 7, afternoon: Learn the results of the ranking and matching process.

Note: Employers and co-op students may not communicate between the interview and the time we release results of the match. If an employer contacts you during the primary recruiting period, you must send their message to your co-op coordinator.

Personal Job Search

  • You may conduct a personal job search any time.
  • Interviews we schedule take precedence over interviews through your personal job search, so please avoid scheduling interviews from January 23 through February 3.
  • Before accepting a job you find on your own, you must send details of the offer to your co-op coordinator so we can decide whether to approve the job for co-op.
  • You may not accept a job offer through your personal job search between the deadline for submitting your intention form, 9 a.m. on January 17, and the time we announce the results of the ranking and matching process, on February 7. 

Continuous Recruiting Period

  • We will begin posting jobs for the continuous recruiting period on Friday, February 7, 2025.
  • If you are still seeking work for the spring, you will begin applying to job postings again.
  • Please complete the Student Contact and Interview Conflict Form for the continous recruiting period by Monday, February 10 at 11:59 p.m..
  • During the continuous recruiting period, employers may contact you directly to arrange interviews and offer jobs. Please send details of your interviews to your coordinator, so we don't schedule you for other interviews at the same time.
  • We will post jobs for the continuous recruiting period until all co-op students have secured employment for the spring.
  • If you receive an offer from an employer, please let your coordinator know so we can notify other employers considering you.
