Student Payroll Forms
- TD1 Personal Tax Credits (TD1/TD1ON)
- Log in to LORIS.
- Navigate to "Employee" > "Employee Dashboard" > "Taxes" > "TD1 Personal Tax Credits."
- Click either "Update" or "New link" to the right of the Federal TD1.
- Update the values as necessary.
- Check the signature box, then click the "Submit Changes" button.
- Click the "Select Another TD1" link at the bottom of the page.
- Click either "Update" or "New link" to the right of the Ontario TD1.
- Update the values as necessary.
- Check the signature box, then click the "Submit Changes" button.
- Direct Deposit Form
- Log in to LORIS.
- Navigate to "Personal Information" > "Direct Deposit Banking Information".
- If incorrect banking information already exists under Proposed Pay Distribution - check the box to the left of the bank and then Delete.
- Click "Add New" in the Proposed Pay Distribution section.
- Select "Create New" and enter direct deposit information.
- Click the box to the left of "By checking this box, I authorize...." and click "Save New Deposit".
- Student Time Sheet (Non-Research): Do not use this form for student research positions.
- Student Web Time Entry Adjustment Form: Use this form to record hours not submitted through LORIS.

Frequently Asked Questions
I am unable to fill out my TD1 because the Employee Tab is not available in LORIS?
The Employee Tab will not become available in Loris until the Payroll Department has received your information and has set you up as an employee. There may be a delay between when you have signed your contract and when they have set you up. You should receive an email to update your TD1 once they have set you up.
What should I do if there are errors when entering my banking information on LORIS?

How do I view my pay stub?
- Log in to LORIS.
- Click the "Employee" link.
- Click "Employee Dashboard."
- Click the link beside “Latest Pay Stub:”
How do I enter my student time sheet in LORIS?
- Log in to LORIS.
- Click the "Employee" link.
- Click "Employee Dashboard."
- Click "Enter Time Sheet."
- Select the "Job" and corresponding "Pay Period" for which you want to report.
- If the reporting period is not shown, click "Prior Periods" then select the timesheet period.
- For each date worked:
- Click the date.
- Select the "Earn Code."
- Enter the hours worked.
- Click "Save."
Note: If you did not work on a particular day, leave the fields blank; zero hours will default automatically behind the scenes.
On a statutory holiday you should enter hours only when you work on that day. You will be paid for time and one-half for those hours recorded. Otherwise, leave the day blank. Payroll will calculate the stat holiday pay automatically based on ESA guidelines.
- When all hours are entered for the timesheet period, Click "Preview". Review the summary then click “Submit” if the timesheet is accurate.

How do I obtain a Record of Employment (ROE)?
ROEs are issued upon request for student employees.
To request an ROE, please email payroll@wlu.ca and provide the following information:
- your first and last name
- your nine-digit student number
ROEs are submitted to Service Canada electronically. You can access your ROE online through My Service Account generally on the same day it is issued.
You can begin your application for EI benefits through Service Canada prior to receiving your ROE.
