Study Skills

Develop the skills you need to excel in your academic studies. You can learn to take better notes, practice better review strategies, and improve your critical reading and note-taking strategies.

We offer study skills support in a variety of ways:

• Individual consultations with trained study skills peer mentors
• Appointments with learning strategists and time management coaches
• Access to study skills resources.
• On-campus and online workshops.
• In-class lectures or workshops at the request of faculty.
• GPA Program for students who are struggling academically or on academic probation.
  Note, students on probation are encouraged to instead partake in our Progressing Past Probation (P3) programming.

On the Waterloo campus, the main office is located on the second floor of the Peters Building in the Teaching and Learning Commons.

On the Brantford campus, this service area, as well as academic writing services, are found in One Market (OM207).

Course Support

Students across campuses have access to a variety of forms of peer-led course support through Study Skills and Supplemental Instruction sessions, Facilitated Study Groups and Mathematics and Statistics Support.
