Women and Gender Studies Student Representatives

The Women and Gender Studies Program is currently looking for two student representatives for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Student representatives help ensure student perspectives are included in program discussions and decision-making. Representatives attend a few WGS program meetings each term to share student perspectives, help shape program initiatives, and ensure student voices are part of conversations about the future of WGS. Student representatives are also invited to attend Arts Divisional Council meetings, offering a chance to learn how decisions are made across the Faculty of Arts and to advocate for issues that matter to students. 

Applications for WGS student representatives for 2026-2027 are welcome from all Women and Gender Studies students, including those working towards majors and minors. We encourage students with diverse experiences and perspectives to apply. Please contact wgs@wlu.ca to apply or if you have any questions. 

*If more than two student representatives apply, the WGS program coordinator will facilitate an e-vote among students. 

Not My Laurier: Golden Hawks Combatting Gender Violence

Not My Laurier is a student-run campaign dedicated to combatting gendered violence within the Laurier community.

The Centre for Women and Trans People

Laurier's Centre for Women and Trans People is a student service that strives to build a community of people and ideas that challenge and examine gender inequalities. In an effort to instigate change, this woman- and trans-positive space offers an extensive collection of academic, community and informational resources, as well as opportunities to actively engage in activism and awareness campaigns.

The Rainbow Centre

The Laurier Rainbow Centre is dedicated to enhancing the university environment for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Queer individuals in the Laurier community through awareness, promotion, education, advocacy and support.
