Departmental course information is provided for your convenience only. Schedules – including times and locations of classes are subject to change and should be confirmed on LORIS under the Student Services tab by accessing the link for Registration. All official academic information, including prerequisites and exclusions, can be found on the academic calendars.
For general information about registration, prerequisites, changing programs, changing student status (i.e. part-time vs. full-time), or taking a course at another university, see/contact Enrolment Services. Faculty of Science Academic Advising in the Dean of Science office, provide general academic advising for students registered in the Faculty of Science.
If you have questions specifically about Chemistry and Biochemistry, contact:
If you would like to take more than 2.5 credits in one term, you will have to fill out the Overload Request Form: Faculty of Science.
You will need to email a request to the undergraduate advisor relating to this form and forward the undergraduate advisor's email response to servicelaurierwaterloo@wlu.ca. If the course is offered through the University of Waterloo, you will have to complete a uWaterloo cross-registration form (no letter of permission request form is required). You'll need the undergraduate advisor's signature and the signature of the uWaterloo instructor on this form. It is relatively easy to get permission to take an elective course elsewhere but you must have a good reason to take a required course elsewhere. For more information, see Taking Courses at Another University.
There are a number of common error messages that you may encounter when registering for courses on LORIS. A list of the most frequent problems and suggestions for how to fix them can be found in the LORIS Glossary.
Students who would like to take CH110 without the 12U prerequisite should contact chemistry@wlu.ca.
You should discuss your situation with an undergraduate advisor before making this decision. If you are planning on leaving Laurier, it is important that you take the proper steps to withdraw.
