Ceremony Information

Laurier's convocation ceremonies take place twice per year in the spring and fall. Join us in honouring the dedication and hard work of our students as they cross the stage and embark on the next chapter of their lives. 

You can find all the essential details regarding our upcoming convocation, including the dates and times of the ceremonies and guest information.

Ceremony Exceptions

Students with Combined Majors

Students with combined majors will be assigned a ceremony based on their first alphabetical major.

  • Faculty of Arts: Women and Gender Studies is a combined major that will be awarded at each of the Faculty of Arts ceremonies under the first major.
  • Graduate Studies students will be aligned with the respective undergraduate programs.
  • Double degree students (BBA/BA and BBA/BSc) have the option to choose which faculty ceremony they wish to attend.

Exception Requests

Students must graduate with members of their faculty. For unique exceptions, written requests must be submitted to convocation@wlu.ca prior to September 1 (Fall Convocation) and April 1 (Spring Convocation). Venue constraints and other variables will be taken into consideration in reviewing such requests.

Guest Information

Tickets

All ceremonies are ticketed events. Guest tickets can only be claimed by the graduating student.

Day of Ceremony 

Find all the guest information you need about attending your student's ceremony such as when you should arrive, where you should park, where you can ask questions, and more. 

Livestream the Ceremony

For guests who are unable to attend the ceremony in person, a livestream on Laurier Live will be available approximately 15 minutes prior to the ceremony start time.

Looking Ahead

Fall 2026 convocation ceremonies will take place October 15-16 in Waterloo and October 20 in Brantford. Our Spring 2027 ceremonies will take place June 8 in Brantford and June 14-18 in Waterloo. Students who have applied to graduate can expect a ceremony invitation to their @mylaurier.ca email mid-spring for spring ceremonies, or late summer for fall.
