Technology Loaner Program
ICT offers a Technology Loaner Program for students that allows them to rent out technology for free for a period of two weeks (14 days) twice per semester (for a total of 4 weeks). ICT will not be loaning devices for the full semester.
Devices will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
All active undergraduate and graduate students have access to this program at no cost. This program is not available to continuing education students or alumni.

- Clickshare wireless video dongle (allows users to wirelessly share device screen in MAC111 and MAC112 / available for Milton campus only)
How to Request to Borrow Technology
- Review the Laptop Loan Policy.
- Go to the ICT Service Desk in 1E4C - The Concourse Area (across from the bookstore) and let the Service Desk Analysts know that you'd like to rent a device.
- The Service Desk will direct you to the Public Access computer or will scan the QR code which will redirect to the technology request form.
- Once you have submitted the request form, you will be provided with a loaner device of your choice.
- Review the Laptop Loan Policy.
- Go to the Brantford ICT office in Research Academic Centre East (RCE) 110 and let the ICT staff know that you'd like to rent a device.
- The staff will direct you to the Public Access computer or will scan the QR code which will redirect to the technology request form.
- Once you have submitted the request form, you will be provided with a loaner device of your choice.
- Review the Laptop Loan Policy.
- Go to Milton campus reception to borrow any of our available technology.
- Reception will direct you to thee scan the QR code which will redirect to the technology request form.
- Once you have submitted the request form, you will be provided with a loaner device of your choice.
Technology Loaner Policy
- Loans begin on the first day of each semester and end on the last day of final exams. Equipment must be picked up on campus.
- Students can loan out laptops for two weeks twice per semester (for a total of 4 weeks) if stock is available. Renewals must be done in-person, and the student is required to fill out the rental agreement for each loan and renewal.
- A valid OneCard and a Verification of Enrollment form is required for all loan outs and renewals to show proof of active registration and student status.
- All equipment must be returned to the campus office it was borrowed from in Waterloo, Brantford or Milton.
- The ICT Service Desk staff will verify that equipment and accessories have been returned.
- The ICT Service Desk is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property, including loss of data due to hardware or software malfunctions. Students use of loaner laptops is at their own risk. Always back-up your data.
- The loaned equipment must be returned by the end of the rental period free from any damage (normal wear and tear excepted). The cost to repair or replace loaned equipment that is assessed as damaged by ICT Service Desk staff will be the responsibility of the student. The student will be charged the cost of the repair or full replacement cost of the laptop (up to $1700).
- Items that are not returned within 14 days of the due date will be considered lost and the student will be issued an invoice for a full replacement cost of the laptop (up to $1700). If the laptop has not been returned 7 days after the invoice is issued, a hold will be placed on the student’s LORIS account.
