Emily Daniel, Manager Indigenous Student Services, Multi-Campus

emily-daniel-.jfifEmily Daniel (she/her) is Anishinaabe Kwe with lineage from Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory. As Manager, Indigenous Student Services, she provides supervision and support for the Indigenous Student Services team at Wilfrid Laurier University. She oversees all escalated Indigenous student cases and engagement with First Nations and other Indigenous organizations as it relates to Indigenous students' success at Wilfrid Laurier University. Emily received her Honours BA in International Development Studies and a Master of Arts in Leadership Studies.

Margaret Neveau, Indigenous Student Counsellor, Multi-Campus

Margaret Neveau

Margaret, Misko Nodin (she/her), Indigenous Student Counsellor, I am Ojibway Anishinaabekwe from Batchewana First Nation located on the Eastern shores of Lake Superior. I offer 1:1 counselling appointments, deliver workshops from Indigenous teachings and coordinate the Elders program. I am a ceremonialist and offer trauma informed wholistic healing approaches focusing on mental health wellness (mind, body, spirit and emotion). As an experienced guide, establishing mutual trust and safety are my top priorities while understanding your identity and Indigeneity, emotional processing and cultural awareness.

Zeeta Lazore Cayuga, Learning Consultant Indigenous Academic Transition and Success, Multi-Campus

As a Learning Consultant, I can meet 1:1 with students on the Waterloo and Brantford campuses to develop their study skills and facilitate academic success programming for undergraduate and graduate students.

Stephanie Absalom, Indigenous Student Support Coordinator, Waterloo Campus

I am Mohawk First Nations of the Haudenosaunee on my father’s side. I grew up in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region and graduated from Laurier in 2021 with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology. My current role is to support our Indigenous students from the Waterloo and Kitchener Campuses, and to organize programming for the Indigenous Student Centre.

Jesse Gagnon, Indigenous Student Support Coordinator, Brantford Campus

I am Afro-Indigenous. I am Anishinaabeg with lineage from Odanak First Nation on my mother’s side and Trinidadian lineage on my father’s side. I am a Laurier alum and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Social Work. As a student, I worked closely with Margaret Neveau at the Indigenous Student Centre as an assistant. In my current role, I provide support and programming for online and in-person students at Laurier’s Brantford campus.

Oliver Manidoka, Indigenous Student Recruitment & Access Coordinator, Multi-Campus

As the Indigenous Student Recruitment & Access Coordinator, Oliver works directly with prospective Indigenous applicants, providing focused 1:1 support for inquiries and by helping incoming students navigate the undergraduate admissions process.
