Job/Volunteer Opportunities

Tutor Positions

The ALC tutoring program is for registered ALC students that require tutoring assistance. The purpose of this program is to aid with specific class learning or exam preparation/review

Volunteer Note Takers

Do you attend all your classes and take great notes? Volunteer to take notes for someone in need!

The ALC provides a note-taking service for registered students with disabilities who have been approved for this classroom accommodation. These disabilities often make it difficult for students to take comprehensive written notes in class.

Peer Support Volunteers (Brantford campus)

Peer Support Volunteers are trained to provide support for (primarily) first year students registered with the ALC to help ease their transition into university and/or the ALC. They are also trained to be ambassadors of the department, promoting and providing education to others about disability/accessibility-related issues.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to develop skills in public speaking: delivering training/workshops; organization: planning/hosting campus-wide events; communication: representing the department at information and recruitment fairs, writing funding requests; interpersonal communication: working within a team.

Those interested in pursuing a career in social justice, social work, or within any of the helping professions are encouraged to apply.

Application deadline: March 5, 2018

Are you interested in being more involved in the Laurier community and helping other students at the same time?
