A Guide to Your Fall 2021 Laurier Experience

Returning and new Golden Hawks, we're so excited to welcome you back to campus!

To help you prepare, we've highlighted how your academics and on-campus experiences will be adapted and enhanced this fall.

Welcome Home

Keeping You and Our Community Safe

We are continuing to remind the university community about our face covering policy and the other health and safety policies and procedures they must follow when on campus through a variety of channels – mandatory training, signage, web updates, social media and our weekly What you Need to Know for Fall email digest. In addition to these reminders, our Special Constables and Student Safety Ambassadors will be on our campuses to remind people about our guidelines.

On-Campus Protocols

Understand your responsibilities while on campus and see what we’re doing to make sure you have a safe experience.

Off-Campus Safety

Whether you’re living on campus, in surrounding neighbourhoods, or are learning remotely, we all play a part in keeping our community safe.

What's Open on Campus this Fall

Our campuses will be open to all students this year as we deliver a robust set of student services and activities. Laurier is working to maximize university activities as permitted by provincial health guidelines. Most services will continue to offer virtual delivery options, allowing you to choose from a mix of in-person and remote programming based on your interest and comfort level.

For detailed access information and the latest status, check with individual departments.

We're working hard to make your residence experience the best that it can be and making sure there are as many opportunities for you to connect as possible. Make the most out of your residence experience by getting involved in Laurier's residence communities.

Living Off-Campus?

Check out resources about your off-campus living experience. We partnered with places4students.com to help you in your home search, and you can find events to connect with other off-campus students through LOCUS.

Eating Off Campus?

If you choose to eat off campus, make sure you:

  • Follow public health and gathering guidelines.
  • Show our small business owners the Golden Hawk spirit by respecting their mask protocols.

Your Classroom Experience

Fall 2021 will be a blend of in-person and remote classes. We've added additional time between in-person classes for safe entry and exit, and mask protocols are also in place. Read the latest update or check out the 2021/22 timetable in LORIS.

Are My Classes On-Campus or Online?

Courses delivered in a classroom on campus will have a building and room location listed in LORIS under "Meeting Times," and in ScheduleMe beneath the campus listing. You can identify remote courses by looking for “Remote” under the building or room number. See Enrolment Services for more information.

Plan Ahead for Winter 2022

We plan to return to regular in-person operations with minimal restrictions by the start of the winter 2022 term.
