Student Employment

The Mathematics Department hires undergraduate Laurier students as instructional assistants for laboratory sessions and as markers and/or proctors.

There are also opportunities for both employed and volunteer positions with Mathematics and Course Support.

Lab Instructional Assistants

The deadline to apply for IA positions in the winter 2026 term was Sunday, November 2nd, 2025. The next opportunity to apply for a position will be in late February/early March when the online application forms for the spring and fall 2026 terms will become available.

Markers and Proctors

The department employs senior students on a piecework basis to proctor midterm tests and to mark assignments, quizzes and midterm tests in many of its courses. These opportunities are emailed to mathematics majors as needed.
